Brian Michael Bendis is amazing on this book. I love what he has been doing with the time displaced X-Men. Since his arrival on the X-books he's done some interesting things and shaken things up, having moved away from the meandering lost state that the X-books seemed to have fallen into since the Avengers rose to prominence again at Marvel. Stuart Immonen's artwork is as always a treat. He does some very interesting things with time travel, a trope that unfortunately gets played again and again in comics with nothing really new added to the mix. There are a lot of exciting moments and it is a very interesting chapter in the lives of these new X-Men. I love what Mr. Bendis has been doing with the X-Men and I highly recommend it.

Yet another turn in sheer mediocrity from the worst writer in the industry. Brian Bendis has no regard for continuity or history, something proven in spades throughout this arc. This collection has the evil variant X-Men (or Brotherhood) of the future still causing problems, while for some reason, the X-Men of the past are still in the present. The reason pretty much adds up to "because Bendis says so". The man is totally incapable of writing a character in character- everyone yells at each other in the same obnoxious voice that is Brian Bendis's own voice. Why this man keeps getting writing assignments is beyond me, and when he's gone from Marvel, it'll take a lot of work to undo the damage he's done.
