Opinion

From Library Staff

A gently didactic story, with warmly hued cartoon-style illustrations, follows non-gender conforming Jacob, who wishes he could wear a dress to school.

Fantastic book for a sensitive topic.

Definitly a book-with-a-message. Books-with-a-message are usually less effective (and more heavy handed) at conveying said message than books that are just really good stories. This was still a lovely and timely and well handled story. I also appreciated the bit at the end about the authors' real-life gender non-conformist son.
