I am sorry to say that I have not yet read the first book, but I have read this book. (Ya, not always the best idea and a SPOILER ALERT). I really like the characters and the enemies are many. The end of the first book really gets Billi all emotional. She later goes to Russia (Ya! Finally someone writes about Russia, not only is it different from the many American and such settings, the folk tales are many and it is a whole new idea) and meets the Bogatyrs, sorta like Russian Templars-plus the fact that they are RICH. The enemies continue to be werewolves and such with greater (VERY grave) danger. Billi, falls in love with the long lost and presumed dead Princess Anastasia's great-something grandson, Ivan Romanov (The supposed head of the ancient line of Russian warriors and is also trained, kind of like Billi) and continues to face it all with a kick butt attitude to all those vampires, werewolves and power hungrey former mafia dudes. Having heard these tales all my life, Billi facing Baba Yaga and such is a very sweet idea & are a sure #1 on my list of paranormal books.

This was a good book. It certainly was up to the standard of the first book.

I hope this becomes a more popular title. Along with all the other good paranormal fiction books for teenagers.
